1. Data Collected

FilmScribe may collect:

• Registration data (name, email)
• Payment information (processed securely by specialized payment platforms; we do not store card data)
• Audio and video submitted for processing, including imports via YouTube and Google Drive
• Data generated by processing (transcriptions, segments, emotion analysis, scripts)
• Usage records of AI assistant connections (which assistant, which features were looked up and when)
• Platform usage information (access, features used, preferences)

2. Data Usage

Your data is used to:

• Enable platform operation
• Process and analyze submitted content
• Improve FilmScribe's experience and features
• Communication about updates, notices, and important information

3. Audio and Content

• Uploaded audio is used exclusively for internal processing
• Not used for public model training
• Not shared with other users
• Can be removed upon user request or account closure

4. Google Drive Integration

FilmScribe offers optional integration with Google Drive for importing audio and video files.

• We use Google's drive.readonly scope to access only the file you explicitly select through the Google Picker
• No other files in your Google Drive are accessed, listed, or stored
• The selected file is downloaded to our servers exclusively for audio extraction and transcription processing
• We do not store your Google Drive credentials; we use temporary access tokens
• You can revoke FilmScribe's access to your Google Drive at any time through your Google account settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions)
• Data obtained from Google Drive is not sold, transferred, or shared with third parties
• Google Drive data is not used for advertising, model training, or any purpose other than the transcription and analysis processing requested by the user

5. YouTube Integration

FilmScribe allows importing YouTube videos via link for audio extraction and transcription processing.

• Only the audio from the video provided by the user is extracted and processed
• No data from the user's YouTube account is accessed
• The extracted content is used exclusively for the platform's transcription and analysis features

6. Connecting AI Assistants

You can connect FilmScribe to third-party AI assistants of your choice (such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) through the FilmScribe Connector.

• A connection is only created when you explicitly authorize it, on a FilmScribe consent screen that shows the assistant's name and the address access is sent to
• A connected assistant can only read your FilmScribe data: files, folders, transcripts and translations, chapters, hooks, scripts, emotions, diagrams, favorites, key moments, clips, download links (for the MP3, the clips, the original video and the Final Cut, Premiere and DaVinci editor export files) and hours used this month. It cannot create, edit or delete content, or spend your hours
• Data is sent to the assistant only when it looks it up while you use it. From then on, it is handled by the company behind the assistant, under that company's terms and privacy policy
• Download links handed to the assistant are temporary (valid for up to 24 hours) and allow the file to be downloaded during that time. An editor export file the assistant asks for is kept for up to 24 hours for that download and then deleted; it may include your project's timeline. A timeline from your editor that you send through an upload link the assistant hands you is kept, encrypted, for up to 24 hours for those exports and then deleted
• We don't store your conversations with the assistant. We only record which assistant was connected, which features it looked up and when, to show a connection's last use, for internal metrics and for your account's security. This record doesn't include the content looked up and is deleted when you delete your account
• You can revoke any connection at any time in Profile, on the Connections tab. Connections are also revoked when you reset or change your password, change your email or delete your account, and they expire after 45 days without use

FilmScribe does not control how a third-party assistant uses the information it receives. We recommend connecting only assistants you trust.

7. Data Sharing and Transfer

FilmScribe does not sell or share personal data with third parties, except when necessary for:

• Payment processing
• Technology infrastructure (servers, cloud storage via Cloudflare)
• Artificial intelligence services for transcription and content analysis
• Transactional email delivery
• Delivery to third-party AI assistants you connected and authorized (section 6)
• Compliance with legal obligations

Your data may be processed on servers located outside Brazil, including Cloudflare infrastructure. These providers follow international data protection standards and have appropriate contractual clauses in accordance with LGPD.

8. Information Security

We adopt technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), user-isolated storage, and restricted access control to data.

9. User Rights (LGPD)

You may, at any time:

• Request access to your data
• Correct information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Revoke consents

10. Cookies

FilmScribe may use cookies to improve navigation and user experience. You can manage cookies directly in your browser.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Each uploaded file and everything generated from it (transcriptions, clips and captions) is kept while you keep using it; with an active subscription, a file left unopened for 4 months is automatically removed, and without an active subscription that window is 2 months. In that case we email you before removal so you can download anything you still need, and opening the file resets the clock. You can also request complete deletion of your data and account at any time by contacting us. Upon account closure, all associated data is permanently removed.

12. Payment Disputes (Chargebacks)

When a customer files a chargeback with their card issuer, FilmScribe may be required by card-network rules to provide evidence that the service was actually delivered. To respond to such disputes, we may share the following with our payment processor (Stripe) and the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.):

• Customer signup data (name, email, account creation date)
• Platform usage history (processed uploads, generated scripts and chapters, saved clips, completed translations, video downloads delivered)
• Excerpts of transcripts and AI-generated scripts produced from the customer's submitted content, used solely as proof of digital delivery
• IP address and user-agent associated with the customer's access sessions
• Payment dates, amounts charged, and a copy of the Stripe invoice

This sharing occurs exclusively in response to disputes initiated by the customer and follows the rules of the card networks and our payment processor. The data is used solely to resolve the dispute.

13. Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated. The most recent version will always be available on the platform. If there are significant changes to Google data usage, we will notify users by email.
